Belén Lledó

Scientific Director of Instituto Bernabeu Biotech

Belén Lledó studied Biology at the University of Alicante, Spain, between 1996 and 2000. She received her PhD degree from the University of Alicante. Her thesis on transcriptional regulation was carried out in the Molecular Biology Department. During her PhD she carried out an international stay at University of Cambrigde. In 2004 she moved to the Instituto Bernabeu in Alicante, Spain, where she first worked in the IVF and the Molecular Biology laboratories. 2nd place American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) prize winner for the best conference poster. October 2012.

Professor of Master’s Programme in Human Reproduction, University of Alicante. During her scientific career she has published more than 20 articles in international journals in the field of Molecular Biology and Human Genetics.

Nowadays, she has become in the Director of the Department of Molecular Biology. Her research interest included the development of new methods for prenatal and preimplantational genetic diagnosis.

Jorge Ten

Reproductive Biology Director of Instituto Bernabeu

Jorge Ten obtained his BSc degree at the University of Valencia in 1994. Then he commenced work on his doctoral thesis on the effect of an antioxidant therapy on the lost of reproductive potential, obtaining his PhD degree in January 1998. In October 1997 he moved to the Instituto Bernabeu in Alicante, where he first worked as a Clinical Embryologist until 2001, then becoming Director of the Department of Biology of Reproduction. Recently, he has obtained the Senior Clinical Embryologist Certification by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology and a place of Associate Lecturer of the Department of Bio-Technology at the University of Alicante. He has written more than 35 articles published in national and international scientific magazines, as well as more than 70 communications to Congresses.

José Antonio Ortiz

Biochemist at Instituto Bernabeu Biotech

Bachelor of Chemistry, specialized in Biochemistry from the University of Barcelona. Doctoral thesis conducted in the Molecular Biology Department of the Pharmacy Faculty of this same University. From 1997-2000, he completed a postdoctoral program at IGBMC in Strasbourg (France). When he came back to Spain, he started working at the University Miguel Hernández in Alicante as a researcher in the "Ramón & Cajal" Program. In 2006, he started working in the Instituto Bernabeu Molecular Biology and Genetics Department. Recently, he has completed his training with a Master’s in "Health Science Statistics" at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
